Tweed-lee Dee

Skirt: Express; blouse: NY&Co.; pumps: Boutique Nine(Nine West); trench: F21; necklace: Express

My work environment requires a very professional (conservative) dress code, so this is a typical work look for me. It's still a bit chilly in the mornings so this tweed skirt kept me warm. The blouse has a ruffle trim around the neckline. My pumps are my current favorite pair from Nine West. The necklace is also Express. It's an owl. I collect owl stuff. I've always found them quite interesting! I wore a leopard print trench in the morning to give my outfit some "fun." Plus, it kept me warm, too!

On a side note: I didn't celebrate Mardi Gras, but I hope those that did had fun!! I am however observing Lent starting today and attended Ash Wednesday services. I also made my committment to give some things up for the next 40 days. I'll let you know later how I do.

Le Garage Sale

In an effort to pass on the great sales in the great state of Texas, I'm passing on this email I received from one of my favorite stores in Corpus Christi, TX (South TX). A bunch of boutiques in CC are coming together for a big garage sale of their merchandise! There will be some awesome stores there. If I get a chance to travel this weekend, I will definitely stop by. If you are in the area be sure to check it out.

victorian sleek

skirt and blouse: express; tights: f21; heels: Nine West
I was feeling very lady like in this outfit. I adore the blouse so much that I got it in two different colors from one of my fave stores, Express. It is silk with chiffon sleeves. The great thing about this blouse is that the neckline has pearls and studs draped across it, so no necklace required. I wore it with a high waisted pencil skirt, black tights and snake print Nine West heels. I wore my classic black trench to keep me warm when I went out.

My Make-up

Although I only have less than 10 minutes to do my make-up in the morning, it is definitely a pleasure of mine to collect it. My favorite brand is M.A.C. I also like clinique and the loreal hip collection, which I am told is made by the same company as mac, but it is slightly cheaper. Black eyeliner, lipgloss, and brown colors are my staples. I am currently using a Dior liquid foundation that I bought in Paris and adore. The holiday eyeshadow palette from MAC is my new addiction. I wear the colors almost everyday! My new favorite lipgloss is the current MAC Viva La Glam created by Fergie. It's a sparkly mauve. Nymphette, a pink with gold glitter is another fave. here's a look at my make-up collection.

I am a Natural Blue.

Dress: Banana Republic; Shoes: boutique Nine; necklace: express; Blazer: Express; belt: Linea Pelle

I recently purchased this dress at Banana Republic in 3 different colors, but I have to say this is my favorite one. It's a deep blue, cobalt. It is made of silk and has billowy sleeves. I belted it with a studded leather belt and my favorite platform pumps. For work I wore a blazer over it, which I took off for evening. The color had such a calming effect all day despite the fact that I was running around for the most part. Oh ya the best part is that the outfit retail value would have totaled close to $500. I got for under about $120!
Style Secret: The dress tended to crease after long hours of sitting at my desk, so every now and then I spritzed it with a bit of Downy wrinkle release spray. I bought a travel-size bottle at Walmart for about a buck. It works miracles!

Red Cardi

cardi and lace blouse: Express; pants: NY and Co.; bracelet: mom; platform mj's: Nine West

So it's been pretty cold here for Texas. The weather is so fickle though that by the afternoon it's up to 80 degrees (which believe me is cool compared to most days!) I wore this red cardigan to keep me warm in the morning and layered it over a lace bow tie blouse. Gray slacks and snake print maryjanes finish the look. I work in a very conservative atmosphere, so it's business attire for me Monday-Friday. I thought the bow on the blouse was an interesting touch.
